Yes, you may make changes to the design of the project during the construction process depending on the type of change, the status of construction, and the feasibility of the change. Major structural changes are not permitted once construction has begun. Interior design changes may be permitted if our architect approves of the change and that may incur in additional change order fees.

Some examples of smaller changes that are acceptable during the construction process are:

• Deciding to go with a different siding or roofing material.
• Tweaking the layout of fixtures before plumbers and electricians arrive. You will need to consult with our builders and designers however to see where these fixtures can viably be moved.
• Choosing different bathroom and kitchen cabinetry and even altering the layout of those new cabinets if so desired.

We have dedicated project managers and site supervisors who will ensure your custom-built home meets all relevant building codes and regulations. Each and every member of our team that works on building your custom home is well-trained and certified, always staying up to date with current building codes, municipal by-laws, etc. Before the project is complete and delivered, you will have a walkthrough with the site supervisor and local inspector to ensure the scope of work detailed in the contract has been completed to your full satisfaction.

Site visits are allowed during the construction of your custom build home through appointments with the site supervisor/project manager. Arriving unannounced whilst ongoing construction can be extremely dangerous therefore, by alerting our team with an advance notice, we can prepare the site and ensure you can conduct your business safely.

Ideally, clients should already have the full exclusive rights to the land, access to a property, and acquired permits prior to contacting us to build their custom home. However, in situations where clients do not currently own any property to build a custom home on, we can still provide guidance and assistance regarding where to look in your search to find one.
